Bold Uniq Ambassador: Jackie
Our BOLD UNIQ™ Ambassador Jackie is a true silver sensation, but those stunning locks didn’t come easy. Like all of us, she had ups and downs to overcome, but she came out smiling.
Jackie finally decided to embrace her natural silver hair in 2015. Ever since she’s been on a journey of silver-self- discovery. She is bold, brave, and beautiful, and we wanted to share her story so you can get to know more about one of our favorite silver sisters!

Hey Jackie! Let's start by telling us about your transition to silver hair!
I have actually transitioned to silver hair 3 times! I would find that my strength to stay silver would waver when I would reminisce while looking at old photos of my darker dyed hair.
For me, the transitions were a bit easier since my hair is so short. I would eventually get so impatient for the colored bits to be gone that I’d just get my hair cut even shorter! Finally, in 2015 I stripped the dye from my hair for the last time. It was such an amazing relief!
What's it like to be part of the silver sister community.
I cannot fully express what the Silver Sister community has done for me. I know for certain that this fine group of folks helped me gain confidence and learn to accept me for me.
All the crazy little quirks and “flaws” are things I’ve started to celebrate rather than dislike. Now I find myself wanting to put that same awesome feeling back out into the social media world with my posts. I’m happy if I’ve even helped one person see how truly unique and wonderful, they are.
I have posted this before, and I’ll continue to do so, the Silver Sister community is about so much more than silver/grey/white hair. I feel like I’m proof of this.
Advice on new silver sisters embracing their silvers for the first time?
As much as you want to, do NOT compare your hair to someone else’s. Learn to embrace your own silver/grey/white hair and celebrate its uniqueness. You could very easily discourage yourself with comparison. There’s nothing wrong with finding inspiration in other silver sister’s journey’s, but you are on your very own. Learn from it and enjoy it. Please, be patient and be kind to yourself.
What is your proudest moment of 2020?
Honestly, I’ve been so proud that I have not gained back a ton of weight. I’ve worked so hard to get healthy and I do not want to backtrack.
When do you feel most beautiful?
I always feel most beautiful after I’ve applied fresh make-up in the morning.
What is your motto to live by?
Just as I said to a previous question: Be patient and be kind to yourself. This is not just something I say to others, I often must remind myself of!
What are you most grateful for?
I am most grateful for my husband, friends, and family, without which I could not have succeeded in life. My wonderful husband is a passionate, driving force that pushes me to do better every day.
What is your favorite Bold Uniq product?
I just LOVE the purple shampoo! I was so amazed the first time I used it and it knocked the brassiness right out of my hair! It’s magical!
What do you love most about the brand?
Oh dear, this list could go on forever! Aside from the fact that it works amazingly well and is cruelty-free, I love that this is an ethically sound product. It is also amazing to me that the bottles/packaging are made from ocean waste plastic. We should all do our part in helping to clean up the oceans and this is one way in which we can help!
